Our Story
Transmitt was founded by designer Shaun Dudley, whose lifelong fascination with light – and its power to transform space – shapes everything we create. What began as an obsession with illumination has grown into a studio devoted to the artistry of making luminaires that are imbued with sculptural form, living materials and the ephemeral beauty of light itself.
Our team of designers, engineers, and makers has worked with light for over 30 years, collaborating for more than 15 of those with many of Australia’s leading architects, interior designers, and entrepreneurs. Trusted collaborators include Alexander & Co, ACME, Luchetti Krelle, Mitchell & Eades, Samantha Leigh, Tamsin Johnson, Merivale, and other visionaries across commercial, hospitality, and residential design.
We continue to maintain an experimental practice – exploring illumination on a conceptual plane through one-off pieces, developing unique finishes, custom commissions, and an ever-evolving product range that began as a capsule of twelve designs. Each piece seeks to translate the ephemeral nature of light into objects that feel both tangible and timeless.
